Open Door Policy

Lazy Sunday....

After too much drinking and partying last night, I have decided to have a slow and lazy sunday with my husband....

We chose ODP for lunch =) . Had cravings for eggs benedict but it was sold out! BOO! Hahaha. Nonetheless, we both tried something new to us at ODP!

My husband ordered smoked salmon!

And mine, pickled herring. Well, I would say that the pickled herring taste a little similar to the anchovies that I had previously, but this was much more sour compared to the rosti with anchovies dish... CLICK HERE!

Really enjoyed lunch today. And... I will be back AGAIN! Haha!

Canopy

A cafe in the park! I was introduced to Canopy by my best friend... She was raving how good the eggs benedict are!

Decided to have something sweet instead as I was having slight abdominal discomfort...

As usual, I tried the iced mocha here... and... IT IS AWESOME. Super thick chocolate and coffee mix. I finished it despite having stomach discomfort! Hehe...

A great place to chill... I guess that when I visit Canopy the next time, I would bring Brownie along and take the outdoor seats. =D

Give me a reason to carry on...

Been feeling down these days..... Please give me a reason to carry on what I'm doing now... Sick and tired of mundane life. As in part of my life... sigh. 

The Missing Pan

As you know that I was unable to try The Missing Pan the other day. :( 

Decided to go to a cafe on a Sunday afternoon so I gave TMP a try!

Ordered the french toast that was much raved about, truffle fries (not on the menu), iced mocha and iced chocolate.

Let us talk about the drinks first! 

Ice chocolate, according to my husband it is good but not that fantastic! He usually order ice chocolate in cafes because he is not a coffee drinker! I had iced mocha because I love both chocolate and coffee! TMP Iced mocha taste yucky, based on the day I visited. The coffee is diluted. So I guess that spoilt the drink. Best iced mocha I had thus far is at The Plain and Beviamo.

Truffle fries

Very well deep fried fries! Absolutely yummy. The truffle taste is not on every fries. But it is really a good serving of fries. Drizzled with truffle oil. Key word: Drizzled. Still Yums!  

French Toast

A very unique dish, French toast with spinach and chicken inside. Something new that you can try. An interesting dish with not-too-bad taste. But I'm sorry TMP, I will not visit it for a 2nd time... Probably, this is not to my liking but you guys can go and give it a try, Spinach and chicken in a french toast is pretty interesting!

Beverage plays a very important role in my meals. If the beverage is good, and dishes are bad, at least I will go back and try another dish! But... yea. =/ I was quite disappointed that day.

I always love how Jia Qian and May do my nails. Coz I'm super particular with details! Sometimes, when I get super indecisive, and my nailart is screwed up, I will return to them and get it all removed and redone! 

That is how particular I am. I have been with them for 3 years now, and I am still happy with their work and standards.

Cupplets

Hello Everyone! It is TGIF tomorrow! So cheer up and finish up Thursday (that's if you dread your work or have a bad Thursday!). Hehe. 

Took leave today to study and to complete my e-test! Well, I've got to run some errands as well... Like bringing Brownie to his groomer! 

Decided to give Cupplets a visit while waiting for Brownie. I have not visited ever since... FOREVER??

I love the cafe decor, very small and cozy place to chill. 

My cup of cappuccino and a strawberry tart!

The coffee is strong enough to my liking! The strawberry tart can be a little messy but you could make use of a fork and spoon.Very refreshing taste and nice crumbly crust! Oh, I'm definitely buying some back for my preggy sister to try. =D 

My view from where I am sitted... I could smell the freshly baked tarts, freshly brewed coffee and a mini view of the pool outside the cafe (not in pic). 

Studying in the cafe is not allowed (I realised only after I made payment! Oops!) I was there during non-peak hours. Thank goodness lady boss did not shoo me away! Haha... Please do not hog up the seats! A great place to hang out for tea time with your friends or grab a quick fix of coffee before class.

Start Drooling.....

Salon Vim (Bugis)

Came to know about Salon Vim through many bloggers! I decided to give it a try because I am quite tired of my purple highlight after 2 weeks?! Makes me look dull and boring! 

It was a very impromptu visit and wanted to do a consultation only. I headed to Salon Vim 313, but sadly, I got turned away by a senior stylist who said, with the fact that I had done Elumen colour (by Goldwell), I should go back to my old salon to get the colour stripped off because there is NOTHING that can be done. I was disappointed and decided to go for a 2nd opinion! (haha, as if I am going to see a doc). Headed to Bugis and guess what! I met a super nice lady who is willing to pay attention to my wants and needs, and she is none other than JAMIE (not me)!!!  She, is the director at Salon Vim (Bugis). Jamie went through with me the process and reassured me that my hair would not suffer from breakage, and that made me agree to bleach my hair!!

After bleaching my hair twice...

I was checked on for every 10-15mins throughout 4 hours of hairdo. Really comfortable experience. 

and... TADA!

I am super happy with the results, smooth post-bleached hair.  I did Keratin treatment to further strengthen my hair and to ensure NO BREAKAGE. 

Keratin is good, only treatment and no chemical involve. I had done many keratin treatments and the results is always superb. Make sure you ask your stylist that its "100%" Keratin (Protein) treatment and NO chemical involve. The results is really different because I had tried both types before. 

Yes, I spend a lot on my hair and it is worth it! I look so much brighter and it definitely boost my mood! 

Thumbs up to Salon Vim (Bugis) and in particular Jamie for creating such a nice colour to suit my skin tone! Looking forward to your many new interesting hair creations in future! Haha. 

Ooops, and my hair colour is quite close to brownie's! SO CUTE! Hehehehe!

Dior Eye Mascaras

3 Different Mascaras from Dior that serves 3 different purpose!

Diorshow NewLook Mascara, my first mascara from Dior. Before this, I have tried many other brands. This is my 3rd tube! The bristle combs the lashes out nicely (do it in a zig-zag manner!) You are good to go for a tea date with your friends. 

Smudge? : NO (not for me)

Lengthens?: YES

Volumizing?: Average

From my point of view, Diorshow Newlook is perfect for weekends (day time). If you are heading out the whole day and chilling out at night, top up your lashes with Diorshow EXTASE! It give your lashes volume! The thickness depends on the number of layers you put on. 

Look at the bristles for Extase, you can not use it alone! It only volumize, but does not spread the lashes out well! You need both to do the trick. =)

I use it for my lower lahes as well..

For me, I do not like my lashes to be super thick, or else it will feel heavy! I only put on a teeny weeny amount of Extase! Look at my lashes (above pic), it is "combed-out" so well! I am super particular about my lashes, I dislike it to be clumpy and "stucked" together. 

Basically, Diorshow Newlook and Extase are vitals of having nice lashes. I do not put on fake lashes because I don't know how to! Haha! On the other hand, eyelash extensions to me are irritating to have over a long period of time because the extensions will drop off when in contact with water. I only do extensions when I am on a holiday to save time!! Hehe. 

Recently, Dior launch a new mascara called IT-Lash. After its launch, I told myself that I HAVE TO BUY IT! =D I am sure that I WANT it because my experience with Dior Mascara are amazing! 

Look at the bristles for IT-Lash Mascara. It combs out the lashes super super well BUT it does not give volume. Times when I use IT-Lash is when I go to work. Sometimes, I top up with a bit of Extase to give it a slight bit of volume. 

In conclusion, I still prefer Newlook and Extase! IT-Lash........hmmmm.... Mixed feelings. It is too bare for me but at the same time gives a very natural look. Ha!
